Pistol 1 is a foundational course for handgun shooters that has been designed for students with an intermediate understanding of firearms manipulation and employment.

  • Trigger Control Fundamentals
  • Reloading and Basic Malfunctions
  • Pistol and Magazine Manipulations
  • Shoot / No Shoot Judgment Drills
  • Basic Target Transitions
  • Range Safety and Etiquette

Level 1 courses serve as the foundation for developing an understanding of shooting fundamentals and the critical muscle memory required to advance into more complex scenarios. In future courses, where stress is purposely induced, these conditioned gross motor skills determine who leaves the gunfight alive. 

Required Equipment:

  • Semi-Automatic Pistol
  • Outside the Waistband Holster (Kydex or Leather)
    • Drop Leg or Belt Worn (No Serpa)
  • 4-5 Serviceable Magazines
    • Minimum of 2 Magazine Pouches
  • 300 Rounds (No Steel Core, Armor Piercing or Tracer)
  • Weapon Lubrication and Cleaning Kit
  • Suitable & Climate Appropriate Range Wear
  • Proper Ear and Eye Protection
  • Sharpie Marker
  • Positive Attitude
