Level 1 — Tactical Shotgun | July 31, 2022

Level 1 — Tactical Shotgun is a foundational course for shotgun owners that will ultimately foster a deeper understanding of shooting fundamentals while developing the critical muscle memory skills required to effectively protect their homes and or their lives while on duty.

Level 1 courses hosted by Loudoun Tactical are not the typical "entry level" offerings that may come to mind when comparing them to the rest of the industry. As previous students will attest, our Level 1 courses not only provide high intensity instruction, but also serves as an individual assessment for future Level 2 placement.

Instruction Overview:

  • Mindset
  • Marksmanship Fundamentals Review
  • Reloading & Malfunctions Under Stress
  • Defining / Utilizing Cover & Concealment
  • Operating Around & Within Barricades
  • Shooting Through Cover & Various Materials
  • Buddy Pair & Small Team Movement / Bounding
  • 180 Degree Shooting Environment

Required Equipment:

  • SERVICEABLE Shotgun
  • Serviceable Sling or Retention Device
    • 150-200 ROUNDS 
      • Bird Shot/Buckshot Blend with 25-30 Slugs (Recommended)
    • WEAPON LUBRICATION AND CLEANING KIT
    • SUITABLE & CLIMATE APPROPRIATE RANGE WEAR
    • PROPER EAR AND EYE PROTECTION
    • POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE

    By registering, you agree to a background check. Please provide the full name, current address and age of attendee during sign up if registering for anyone other than yourself. If purchasing multiple course slots, please provide the full name, current address and age of the additional students respectively. All students must be 18 years of age in order to participate in all Loudoun Tactical courses.

    Full payment is due at registration. Cancellations more than 30 days before the course date are refunded 50%. Cancellations within 30 days of the course are non-refundable, however, a full credit can be applied to a later course date if available. 

    DISCLAIMER: 

    For your safety considerations, shooting drills require varying levels of physical exertion and result in an elevated heart rate. No audio or video recording is permitted in class due to the privacy required by the cadre members. Certificates are given upon completion of the course.

    This course is recommended for those who have previously received formal instruction and or have a thorough understanding of firearm fundamentals and can demonstrate safe firearm handling skills. If you are uncertain or have any questions, email or message us.
